Candidate Statement – Fiona Gordon

I love our place – the landscape, environment, community and lifestyle. I believe our region needs transparent, responsible and accountable leadership that efficiently delivers future-focused economic development, a healthy environment, and thriving communities. We will achieve this through community partnership and informed decision-making, based on reliable information, with a sharp focus on value-for-money.

As a successful business owner and a Mum, I greatly value local decision making. During my two Council terms, I’ve used my tertiary qualifications and extensive professional background in resource management, and experience working with government, businesses, Iwi and community, to champion and deliver on: biodiversity, community funding partnerships, environmental education, climate action, and systems improvements.

I want to continue to be your voice, to champion our communities’ values for better regional outcomes.
